Mosaic’s sustainability journey is ongoing, and we are continuously evaluating what it means to be a good employer, supplier, neighbor, and value creator for our stakeholders. We are driven by day-to-day progress, small and large, yet we know we always have room for improvement. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were established in 2015 to address the world’s most pressing challenges and improve the wellbeing of a growing global population. As the world’s leading producer and marketer of concentrated phosphate and crop nutrient products, Mosaic has the opportunity—and responsibility—to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
There’s no denying that mining and fertilizer manufacturing are intensive endeavors. Resource extraction, consumption of materials, generation of emissions in operations, water use—these activities are all necessary to fulfilling our mission to help the world grow the food it needs. From mine-to-market, we are working to minimize our negative impacts and maximize the value we deliver to diverse stakeholders around the globe. Below are some of the many ways we are contributing to the SDGs.
